Blue Springs Cemetery
Blue Springs Cemetery is a cemetery in eastern
Jackson County, Missouri that contains 5,734 burials and
at least 145 additional unmarked burials. The
first burial was in 1845. It contains the
birth and death dates where available.

Buckner Hill Cemetery
This cemetery contains many early settlers of
Jackson County who lived into the 1900s and were the
progenitors of many family names familiar to early
county history and prominent in Jackson County
development. The many military burials here
include a veteran of the Spanish American War, as
well as numerous veterans of World Wars I and II,
Korea, and Vietnam. The most recent casualty
was from the Gulf War in 1991.

Cemeteries of Jackson County - A
1993 Report
This is the effort of Victor P. Meador who has
toured the entire county, relocating as many burials
as possible. The condition of the cemetery in
1988 is recorded, and those that have become known
under different names are cross-indexed under both
names. This is not a book of tombstone
readings.

Mound Grove Cemetery (1902-1996)
This book is not just headstone readings.
Information from the stones has been combined with
data from the burial records. The first burial
was in 1904 and there are over 14,928 burials and
marked graves. The names of lot owners,
next-of-kin, and responsible persons have also been
included. Many members of the Reorganized
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and
people of all faiths are buried in this cemetery.

Marriage Records
Marriage Records of Jackson Co. MO (1827-1881)
This book contains each of the eight volumes of
minister's returns with an index for each volume.
In each book the grooms are presented in
alphabetical order, followed by an index to the
brides. These Marriage Records of Jackson
County, Independence MO includes the years
1827-1881. Until the Kansas-Nebraska Act of
1854 that created the territories, Missouri was the
western terminus of civil law. Soldiers from
Ft. Leavenworth in Kansas and of Colorado Cavalry
are found in these volumes. Workers from the
Shawnee Indian Mission are also included. Thus
there are county residents, and many are from other
areas as well.
